HOT COCOA DECODED

DESIGNED FOR SPD COMPETITION

Designed as a submission for the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) 2019 Student Competition. The prompt for this competition was to design a visually engaging magazine article of a how to process geared towards the young young adult demographic. 

Beginning with a little research on the history of hot cocoa and recipes, I sketched a few layouts to create an easy to read article that would draw readers in. I then began exploring ways to make this hot cocoa article deliciously unique through bright original imagery and an alternative artistic medium, chocolate syrup. 

This editorial design received a Noteworthy Mention in the Society of Publication Designers 2019 Student Competition.
